Cat City....Meeoooww!

When in Kuching, be prepared to see cats every where in the town. Cats on roundabouts, at junctions, on road dividers.....on monuments. And apparently, it's become normal to see tourists running like chickens to cross the road to get to the roundabout, to take photo with the cats!!!!! My colleague told me this i've got to do. It was mortifying to me. So supper embarassing man to be in the middle of the road take photo with this cat. I'm too malu to post up the picture of me with the cat! hahaha....
And after all the hype bout cats, apparently, the name Kuching has nothing to do with cats!!!!!! (from a local) I think by now the origin is a leetle vague....

Actually, I did not see a single real living cat all the time I was in Kuching! Only saw 2 live ones at the campsite.

This is 'midin' the above is fresh midin, and below is cooked midin. It's a product of the jungle. No one grows midin. The people will 'collect' from the jungle. So, supply is rather short and u can't get it in supermarkets. Only in the wet market. This is taken from Satok market.

Putting a handful of salt into ikan terubuk to make this local delicacy. Ikan terubuk masin. It's raw, wet salted fish. unlike our dried 'kiam hoo'.
Sights around Kuching waterfront.
